  1. that protester guy says towards the end that he wants the shop closed the company out of business

do these people know what they are saying? Is he interested in how many jobs he wants to destroy? There are still people who live off what they earn going to work every day and this nutter wants to protest them into unemployment?

How many of those thus threatened are non-Israelis? (not that that makes any difference in my “socialist” perspective, but just hoping to show how gaga his demand is and how hostile to human well-being)

  2. Well done, Rhiannon, and more power to your elbow! I’ve been to the kibbutz which makes the Ahava products. It’s on the north shore of the Dead Sea in the middle of the Judean desert – no Arabs for miles around.

  3. Bravo, Rhiannon. You come across as having a passion for fairness and a wonderfully clear-sighted and unapologetic pitch for your stance. AsAJews, please note. Mr ProBoycott by contrast comes across as creepy, unreflective and smarmily self righteous. Your reference to it being a Nazi boycott isn’t one I thought about before. But the whole BDS movement is increasingly explicit about boycotting specifically Jewish settlers on the West Bank. And BBC Radio News increasingly refers to the need to ban building by Jewish settlers on the West Bank.

So presumably you’d have nothing against Palestinian soldiers occupying Israeli land in the Negev, Palestinian settlers from the West Bank moving in and then using the local resources to set up their own company?

  5. Pretzelberg,

Your comparison has quite a few flaws (and I am very generous).

Let me introduce to you (since you won’t visit that despicable “pro-settler” site – MEMRI) Azmi Bishara, an Israeli Arab ex-member of the Knesset who fled the country after he was suspected with selling info to Hizbullah in 2006. A long time before that, sometime in the 90’s, when he was still the leftie’s pet, this is what he had to say about “Palestinians”:

in case you are not familiar with pretzelberg
he isn’t worth getting upset about
most of the time he shows up here says something provocative hoping to draw something into an argument
rarely but I remember it having happened he types something sensible

if you take his bait above he will absurdize his argument into unrecognizability – believe me, he baited me a couple of times before I got his number

  7. I am delighted to announce, that due to my detailed character assassination about the token self loathing Jew Bruce Levy (as featured above in the clip) here

He decided to take the brave steps towards venturing out of his pen and handing out flyers to some passersby! He even one or two times we think attempted to speak to some! Well at least his mouth seemed to be moving. It did admittedly look a little muppet like (before you say that’s unkind see the clip above of him and tell me I’m wrong!!). I tried to strain my neck to see if someone had their hand up his backside making him talk but I could not get a good look. I’ll get a better look next time and let you all know if we really do have a muppet in our midst.

Next time Brucie baby if you’re reading, I will be charging you for my flawless psychological analysis of your condition. You should be paying me for my services you cheapskate!

I can also give advice on how to be less of a pompous w*nker if you’re interested?

    Lots of love

  8. Yes, because if one shop in London goes out of business Israel will withdraw from the West Bank immediately.

    That makes perfect sense!

  9. @ Silke

most of the time he shows up here says something provocative hoping to draw something into an argument

This is a complete and utter lie – and you know it.

    @ al-gharqad

I was merely putting up a kind of mirror.

  10. @ bataween

Beware of Silke – she has in the past tried to discredit me by making up nonsense about me.

  11. Anyway as for the video: note how the self-proclaimed “activist” sneakily refers to “right-wing parties like the EDL … and the Zionist Federation”.

But the fact that the “activists” now have their own police cordon is ridiculous.

  12. Pretzelberg,

“I was merely putting up a kind of mirror.”

And I was merely pointing out the fact that your mirror is broken.

  13. Pretzelberg,

“How about just responding in greater detail to my original post?”

How about not ignoring Azmi Bishara’s thoughts on “Palestinians”?

How about not ignoring the following facts?

    1. The West Bank was occupied by Jordan in 1948. It relinquished its claim for it in 1988.

    2. In a DEFENSIVE war, Israel entered the West Bank in 1967.

Do you still think that your comparison has any connection to reality?

  14. @ al-gharqad

I was simply presenting you with an alternative parallel scenario. If you don’t want to respond to that, then fine, forget it.

  15. Pretzelberg,

“I was simply presenting you with an alternative parallel scenario. If you don’t want to respond to that, then fine, forget it.”

    1. An alternative parallel scenario which has nothing to do with reality.

    2. I responded to it by explaining why it has nothing to do with the question in discussion (the Ahava boycott).

  16. Bravo Rhiannon!

We need many more spirited and thinking people like you rather than the mindless idiots who support this stupid boycott.

al-gharqad, thanks for the video clip.

  17. al-gharqad

An alternative parallel scenario which has nothing to do with reality.

    Doh.

I responded to it by explaining why it has nothing to do with the question in discussion

    No you didn’t.

  18. Pretzelberg,

I take it that you still think that your comparison is valid….

Well, everybody has a right to an opinion. Even if it has nothing to do with reality.

  19. @ al-gharqad

I wasn’t making any “comparison”. You don’t want to address the scenario I posed – fine.

  20. Pretzelberg,

    “I wasn’t making any “comparison”.”

“Comparison”, “alternative parallel scenario”, all the same. It has NOTHING to do with the Ahava case.

“You don’t want to address the scenario I posed – fine.”

I already explained why that “alternative parallel scenario” has nothing to do with reality, but for your sake, I’ll repeat myself:

the West Bank wasn’t taken from the Palestinians (the very existence of whom is questioned by Azmi Bishara, an Israeli Arab ex-member of the Knesset), it was annexed unilaterally by Jordan, which relinquished its claim to it in 1948).
