When was the last time your children had a drill at school to prepare for enemy rocket fire?

H/T Boker Tov

Rocket fire by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza continue to pound Israeli communities.  By Thursday afternoon, at least 11 rockets and mortars had landed in southern Israel, the army said, two of them ploughing into Ashdod, Israel’s fifth largest city with a population of more than 200,000.  For the month, some 95 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza.

Here’s a photo you’ll never see gracing the Israel section of the Guardian.

  1. Insanity, Please explain the following road signs.

The left one says “Muslims Only”.
The right one says “Obligatory for non muslims”.

    Is that apartheid or not?

How many churches are in Saudi Arabia to serve the Christian citizenry of Saudi Arabia?

  2. The hypocrisy of “Sanity” is absolutely astounding. She cannot tolerate anyone who doesn’t subscribe to her libero-fascist agenda of demonizing Israel. Talk about shrill, her constant stridency about “apartheid” could probably break mirrors. She can’t stand that there is nothing specific about “apartheid” in the Rome Statute and then instead of trying to refute exactly how I’ve spelled out that it’s not apartheid with a link, she says “that’s not international law” as if she has been appointed worldwide adjudicator. Thankfully, the world could never sink so low.

She doesn’t bother doing any research. It is a halachic problem to intermarry in Judaism, but nevertheless there is intermarriage in Israel, because Israel is a democracy. She doesn’t want to hear from anyone who happens to be in a mixed marriage and there are a lot of stories about it, unfortunately many of them not good.

That shouldn’t be posted it doesn’t serve her libero-fascist agenda.

Using the word “jihadi” offends her. Why don’t you find reference to that from non-radical practitioners instead of libero-fascism on yet others (note that’s plural).

“Introspective.” Try practicing that yourself before telling others to do so.

  3. Ok Sanity, I missed the “apartheid” clause in the Statute definitions. However, you are dead wrong in attempting to apply to Israel, as are other libero-fascists.

  4. Michael, it’s gracious of you to say that.

But moving on it’s a matter of opinion. Fortunately not yours or mine, but those of international lawyers and judges.

So they’ll ultimately make the decision. My bet is that they’ll come down on the side of saying Israel is an apartheid state. But I could be wrong.

  5. “Serjew, I support the right of return for Jews to Arab countries fully. We lost a great treasure trove of culture when the Jews left, in some cases ethnically cleansed. It was a great loss, and I would love to see it restored.” Sanitary

Sorry, they have a new country now, much better, richer and democratic and
in which they don´t need to depend on the favor of nobody. It´s called
Israel, the multicultural Jewish State (probably more more racial diverse
    than many europeans nations).

  6. “Having shown your knowledge of international law to be entirely wrong, perhaps you will now defer to my superior knowledge?” Sanitary

Yeah, right. It seems you´ve got your degree from the prestigious LSE.

  7. I do not accept most appointments of “international lawyers and judges.” They are typically biased and chosen for that reason i.e., Richard Falk and Richard Goldstone are prime examples. The anti-Zionist “non-aligned” bloc at the UN looks for a rubber-stamp demonization of Israel.

When they choose someone who is not pre-disposed to issue rulings against Israel it will be a different matter.

  8. Serjew, I leave it up to their decision, then. If they want to return then I will support them. If they don’t then I will support them, too. I assume this is another example of by bigotry and antisemitism?

  9. Sanity, I see you don’t like to draw attention to the bigotry you share with Jew-baters down the ages. You live in an artificial construct where you simply cherry-pick those aspects of an argument that best serve your own interests and self-image. Academic in your case does not translate into intellect, sadly lacking in self-reflection, you follow a shallow discourse that never challenges your own self-righteous perceptions and the culture from which they emerged. Like a spoilt child you prefer to stick your fingers in your ears and pretend your prejudices are a nasty Zionist illusion.

  10. Groovy Times, your comment is interesting but does not appear to make any substantive points. Perhaps you could elaborate, and say something meaningful?

  11. “Serjew, I leave it up to their decision, then. If they want to return then I will support them. If they don’t then I will support them, too. I assume this is another example of by bigotry and antisemitism?” Sanitary

No, it´s just the confirmation of your cluelessness. Don´t you get it are you just pretending? The whole point is that Jews now have a country, Israel, on which they are not 2nd rate citizens, dhimmis, heretics, living in fear of the change of mood of the current king, sultan, emir, dictator or mullahs, that, as in europe not long ago, sponsored pogroms to deflect.
their people´s attention. Point is that instead of whining and exploding themselves in restaurants, or languishing in UN-sponsored camps, those expelled Jews joined the state building in Israel to make it the vibrant country she is now. Pals could have done the same, if they hadn´t rejected partition and waged an extermination war, which they lost.
They could have had their own state since 1948 or could have been ”
embraced by their arab brothers, who own 99% of the land in the ME.

So, yes, pals and their leadership (plus their arab “brothers”) are the main culprits for their present situation. It´s very convenient to blame Israel or this Nabka mythology, but that won´t solve their problems. As Israel doesn´t intend to commit suicide, the stalemate will continue for the forseeable future, with intermitent wars, none of which Israel can afford to loose. Maybe as a result of one of the next wars, the Jordan solution will be implemented.

As for your pathetic accusation of “racial” purity, check the post about the Druze people, full Israeli citizens, that serve in the military. So, you are a liar and/or ignorant. No surprise, here.

  12. “Groovy Times, your comment is interesting but does not appear to make any substantive points. Perhaps you could elaborate, and say something meaningful?” Sanitary

Same could be said of most of your comments. It´s just your irresistible projectionitis.

In fact your comments are even worse, as they are uninteresting *AND* lack substance and/or veracity.

  13. So you continue with your talk of ethnic cleansing Serjew. That is what the ‘Jordan solution’ is. Pure and simple.

I have not proposed that Israel should cease to exist, which seems to be what you want me to believe. You are confused. First you wanted me to acknowledge the right of Jews to return, which I did, and then you accuse me of wanting to abolish Israel, which I didn’t. The positions that you are trying to box me into are in any case contradictory.

So, I think you should probably stick to taking your anti-madness pills rather than posting racist diatribes here, and trying to ethnically cleanse the West Bank.

By the way, even the most strident of Likudnik historians would probably not recognise your wildly inaccurate ‘history’.

  14. Sanity, meaningless because you are the subject of my criticism and you remain ignorant of your own prejudices.

  15. Groovy times, I did not say meaningless. I said you made no substantive points. Which is true. And you have done nothing to change it.

  16. “So you continue with your talk of ethnic cleansing Serjew. That is what the ‘Jordan solution’ is. Pure and simple.” Sanitary

No, no, sweetie. Don´t be such a moron. It´s population transfer. Contrary to the Druze, most pals don´t accept Israel. That´s fine, I´m just saying they should go live elsewhere. Hey, their “brothers” possess 99%
of the land in the ME. Just thought that Jordan was the best option, but they could move to Iran or Somalia.

“I have not proposed that Israel should cease to exist, which seems to be what you want me to believe.” Sanitary

You and your “anti-zionist” ilk neve say that, because you are cowards and still have some guilt for your elder´s role in the extermination of european jewry. Then you try to expiate that guilt by the grotesque accusation of” apartheid” or perverse identification of israelis with nazis, and demanding from Israel a behavior you don´t demand from anybody else when dealing with her enemies, in sum, you want what Kant wanted from Jews, that Israel commits euthanasia. Well, f*** your demands. Neither europeans nor the illustrous hypocritical “international community” have moral credibility to impose such double-standard on Israel. It´s that simple, capice?

“You are confused. First you wanted me to acknowledge the right of Jews to return, …” Sanitary

No, no sweetie. No game playing. I just mentioned that population transfers happened before in history, with different degrees of brutality and pointed out the hypocrisy of your “ethnic cleansing” scare word that you love to use about pals but never mention the jewish refugees from the islamic paradise.

You acknowledge the right of return of Jews to the islamic paradise? Really? You are so nice and sweet, so magnanimous, eh? But, let me repeat to you once again: Jews have their own state, it´s called ISRAEL,
a Jewish AND democratic state, a modern, advanced, multicultural tiny
country. You can keep your islamic paradise for you and, beware, it´s reaching europe real fast! Do you look good in a burqa?

“…which I did, and then you accuse me of wanting to abolish Israel, which I didn’t. The positions that you are trying to box me into are in any case contradictory.”

The pathetic fact is that you are already in a box, or better, a mental cage,
that you constructed to sooth your ego, which is quite large, BTW.

“So, I think you should probably stick to taking your anti-madness pills rather than posting racist diatribes here, and trying to ethnically cleanse the West Bank.” Sanitary

Thanks for the advice, but you are queen of inSanity here. And politically correct scare words don´t scare anybody here. BTW, as Benny Morris once said in an interview: “When the choice is to destroy or being destoyed, it´s better to destroy.”

“By the way, even the most strident of Likudnik historians would probably not recognise your wildly inaccurate ‘history’.” Sanity

I don´t know which “history” you refer to. But, mind you, it were Likudniks that made peace with Egypt and Jordan. It was an ex-likudnik that left Gaza. So, it seems that it´s your LSE-type of ideological fabrications that fails the test of reality. Talk about madness…Yeah, we know you´re fond of projecting.

  17. Sanity to Groovy:

“Perhaps you could elaborate, and say something meaningful?”

Are you a goldfish? You seem to suffer from convenient lapses of memory. I would have thought the opposite of meaningful is meaningless, but I ain’t no expert, you’re the one in the ivory tower.
If you want substantive points, try ‘Trials of the Diaspora’ by Anthony Julius. It might give you a meaningful – as in the opposite of a meaningless – education. Laters potaters.

  18. Michael, it’s fair enough of you to think that. THough I think you’re mistaken. Goldstone, for example was chosen in large part because of reverse discrimination, because he was Jewish, as a kind of insurance policy. On the other hand, he’s a distinguished international judge, and his credentials speak for themselves. You might not like his decisions, and you may not like international law, but that is the way the consensus is going, and sooner or later, Israel will find itself having to conform or face consequences, probably in terms of sanctions or some such thing.

  19. “…and sooner or later, Israel will find itself having to conform or face consequences, probably in terms of sanctions or some such thing.” Sanitary

Well, sweetie, I suggest you stick your threats where the sun doesn´t shine.
But I bet you´ll be wearing a burqa way before any of your pathetic threats
    even come close to fruiton.

But don´t be sad. Think of the advantages of living under sharia law: you won´t need to work like men, you´ll have plenty of time to take care of your 12 children and you won´t need to worry about being fat. I think you´ll enjoy it big time.

  20. I missed most of yesterday’s posts but do people really think this is a British attitude?

“Firstly, it’s offensive to take religious language and use it like this”

We are not to call jihadis jihadis?

Where does “Sanity” come from – with her imaginary friends?

  21. “I believe that everybody should see The Forgotten Refugees. It deals with genuine apartheid: Jews (and Christians) were literally inferior beings, subjugated to Islam. They were often segregated in ghettos. In Iran, Morocco and Yemen, they were under intermittent pressure to convert to Islam. They could not ride horses or build houses higher than Muslims, they could not testify against a Muslim, and had to pay protection money for their survival.”

    http://jewishrefugees.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-win-friends-at-soas-israel.html

  22. Goldstone accepted, at face value, unconfirmed reports from Arabs and Israeli leftists on the number of fighters vs. “civilians” killed in Cast Lead. Later, Hamas admitted the number of fighters killed was “600-700.”

That readily demonstrates Goldstone’s lack of impartiality and why he is unqualified. He is certainly “qualified” in the eyes of many because he fulfills the sole criterion: he will find fault with Israel.

  23. The Israeli government refused to cooperate with the Goldstone report. Boo sucks to them if it didn’t whitewash the murder in Gaza, like the Israeli Commission whitewashed the Mavi Marmara murder.

  24. Serjew, it may now have occurred to you in your racist universe, but men don’t wear burqas. And neither for that matter, do most women in the Middle East.

  25. The Israeli government refused to cooperate with Goldstone because he’s biased like I said before and backed up with the way he used specious data that was later proven to be wrong.

Video shows the Mavi Marmara passengers’ violent intent calling for jihad and then attacking the soldiers with weapons.

  26. Who better than a high-ranking military officer to comment on what constitutes “war crimes.” Navi Pillay and others in the ivory tower don’t have to deal with those kinds of issues. People like Col Richard Kemp do.
