“Think the Guardian’s Comment is free, and then imagine its equal and opposite”

“If you have ever thought that there was a gap in the market for discussion about domestic and international affairs from a perspective that actually supports freedom, democracy and the open society you’ve come to the right place.”

Thus begins the introductory message of The Commentator, a new online magazine founded by the prolific Robin Shepherd, Director of International Affairs at The Henry Jackson Society, and author of “A State Beyond the Pale: Europe’s Problem with Israel.

The Commentator seems to possess a rare moral sobriety inspired by the understanding that ideas and political commentary have real world consequences and, in further clarifying their mission, asks that readers, “Think the Guardian’s Comment is free, and then imagine its equal and opposite.”
