My wife’s relatives in Ashkelon were awoken by civil defense sirens at 4:15 this morning in response to one of the barrages of rockets (including sophisticated Grads) fired by Palestinian terrorists into the city and Western Negev over Shabbat. Three Israelis remain hospitalized at Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center after suffering from shock due to rocket attacks. Homes in the Shaa’r Hanegev Region were also damaged by the assault.
Since Thursday, terror groups in Gaza fired more than 70 rockets, mortar shells and missiles at southern Israel communities. Several rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-rocket system.
