Sounds Israeli, Sounds Anglit: The Beatles

A CiF Watch reader recently contacted us and asked whether we’d be interested in posting some of the music videos he’s been collecting on his YouTube channel of Israeli musicians performing English songs, and we thought it would be a nice occasional treat, in the spirit of Hadar’s weekly postcards.

So, here’s an Israeli Beatles cover band called ‘Magical Mystery Tour’, performing the John Lennon and Paul McCartney classic, ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’, recorded live at Cinema City in Rishon-Lezion, Israel on Dec. 19, 2012.

  1. I always enjoy the Beatles, aka Fab Four, Mop Tops, etc.
    Sans the accent that guy really sounds like Ringo.

  2. Noooo
    Please don’t do this . Not to the Beatles . It’s sacrilegious
    Unless of course I can use as a sound bomb at the next BDS protest .
    Hadar Erev Shabbat is the only way to go !

  3. Israeli musicians performing English* songs?
    This fab cover of a certain Weill/Nash song immediately jumped to mind:

    * I presume you mean English-language songs.
    Although re. “English” songs: I’d be intrigued to hear an Esther Ofarim rendition of Whole Lotta Love – not to mention The Ace of Spades.
