In search of Palestinians who are sickened by PA’s celebration of Sbarro bomber

Cross posted from This Ongoing War, a blog edited by Arnold and Frimet Roth

Yesterday’s post [“5-May-14: The making of a martyr: it takes more than a village“] reported on the Palestinian state funeral given to the remaining body parts of a Palestinian human bomb named Izz Al-Din Al-Masr.

The official government-controlled WAFA News Agency gave major prominence to the funeral of the Sbarro bomber "martyr" and to the messages of PA officials inciting to fresh acts of murder. Only in Arabic, naturally. [Via Google Translate]

The official government-controlled WAFA News Agency gave major prominence to the funeral of the Sbarro bomber (“martyr”} and to the messages of PA officials inciting to fresh acts of murder. Only in Arabic, naturally.

He exploded in August 2001 inside a [Sbarro] restaurant filled with Jews, and died a happy young man, perhaps even an ecstatic one. His life, in accordance with the insane religious dogmas that had been pumped into his head, had reached its point of fulfillment.

Aftermath of Sbarro bombing

Our post made the point that representatives of the major segments of Palestinian Arab society took part in last week’s funeral.

If you were looking for moderates – say, the so-called moderates of the Mahmoud Abbas regime – they were indeed there but they were not moderating anything. When it comes to murder and incitement to murder of Israelis and of Jews, they are not moderate; they are enthusiastic. In last Wednesday’s funeral procession in Tubas, they participated, heart and soul, to ensure the strongest possible message of support, encouragement, adulation for acts of calculated murder like the one in which the dead human bomb had engaged, and that stole the life of our 15 year old daughter Malki. They amplified this message of hatred and jihad via the official Palestinian Arab state media, as did the Hamas regime in Gaza. They wanted everyone to know – at least, everyone who speaks Arabic.

As for publishing the same news in other languages, they were much less interested. Try (just as one random example) finding any mention on the English-language, Bethlehem-based, high profile European-funded Maan News Agency website. But Maan’s Arabic side [here] has all the death-cult worship an Arabic reader with an interest in such things could want. Interesting, no?

We received some feedback that suggested this characterization was unfair. They said there are voices in the Palestinian Arab world that are as sickened as people like us are by the unconcealed blood-lust of Hamas, of Islamic Jihad, of Fatah, of the Palestinian Authority and of Mahmoud Abbas.

So here’s an invitation for anyone who has such evidence to send us public, published statements in the Arabic language, in which Palestinian Arab voices condemn what sickens the rest of the world: the process of turning psychopaths like the human bomb who murdered our daughter Malki into martyrs, heroes, figures to be emulated.

Over to you.

Send what you have to thisongoingwar@gmail.com or add them to the comments below. We’ll publish what we receive here. (Remember – in Arabic. We’ll take care of the translating into English.)

  1. Sorry to say, I don’t expect any responses in line with the Roths’ invitation. As it is and always will be there are large segments of humanity who, for various reasons, have lost a part of what it means to be fully actualized people. All that the rest of us can do is live our own lives in accordance with the highest ideals, knowing, unfortunately, that others who do not share all our ideals are out there, and we must never lose our vigilance about them. Maybe in time some of them will choose light over darkness, but that time may be a while from now.

  2. Hussein Ibbish would probably say it’s wrong, but then write ten paragraphs about Netanyahu and settlements.

    • Nope, search not stopped, and it’s in the interests of all of us to keep it going, even to try to make it viral.
The PA engages daily in incitement of the kind that produces murders and martyrs. They’re scheming enough to do it quietly in foreign tongues if at all, even while they do it loudly and openly in Arabic.
People in Europe, Australia, North America generally don’t know this. So they’re wide open to the counter-factual assertions via media and propagandists that Abbas and his merry PA men are moderates.
This point can’t be made forcefully enough: if people in the West understood the moral cesspool in which Palestinian Arab society lives today, replete with schools for creating pre-teen martyrs and a vast infrastructure of society-wide support for killing the other side’s civilians as a goal in itself, they would react.
Indispensable funding for the PA, just as one example, would cease, and much good would flow just from that.
If you can pass the article that my wife and I posted yesterday [http://goo.gl/ObN26G] to people you know, there’s reason to believe positive concrete things will result.
People just don’t know, even when they are unwittingly funding it via their taxes.

  3. A sickening attack back then (and one where Hamas and Islamic Jihad competed for bragging rights), and now it seems the PA simply couldn’t wait to glorify the murderers.

Did Harriet Sherwood ever publish a report on such appalling celebrations?

I was instrumental in establishing the Israeli National Skin Bank, which is the largest in the world. The National Skin Bank stores skin for every day needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations.

This skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery. This is how I was asked to supply skin for an Arab woman from Gaza , who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her. Usually, such atrocities happen among Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.

We supplied all the needed Homografts for her treatment. She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg and discharged to return to Gaza. She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Beersheva.

One day she was caught at a border crossing wearing a suicide belt. She meant to explode herself in the outpatient clinic of the hospital where they saved her life. It seems that her family promised her that if she did that, they would forgive her.

This is only one example of the war between Jews and Muslims in the Land of Israel. It is not a territorial conflict. This is a civilizational conflict, or rather a war between civilization & barbarism.

Bibi (Netanyahu) gets it, Obama does not.

  5. As Isi Leibler said, It is now time for the Obama administration to accept the reality that the PA has evolved into a criminal society. How else to define a regime which brainwashes kindergarten-age children into believing that Israel and the Jews are evil parasites, and continuously calls for the elimination of the Jewish state? This demonization of Israel is reinforced daily by the mullahs in the mosques, and by the PA-controlled media.

In addition, terrorists are sanctified, treated as heroes and awarded state pensions. There are obvious similarities between the Nazi brainwashing of the German people and what Arafat and now Abbas have imposed on the Palestinians.
Fatah glorifies Kibbutz Metzer massacre terrorist who slaughtered 5 Israeli civilians and 2 children and Palestinian homicide bomber for slaughtering 8 Israeli civilians on a bus.
Kibbutz Metzer was about the terrorist incident where a Palestinian gunmen machine gunned an Israeli mother and her 2 sons at Kibbutz Metzer in 2002. The Israeli mother tried to shield her sons, but it was to no avail, the Palestinian terrorists massacred all 3 of them.
And the Europeans fund these Palestinian mass murderers.

British MPs Discuss Palestinian Hate Incitement and Funding of PA
    MARCH 18, 2013

Leaders in the British Parliament recently held a debate examining Palestinian hate incitement and the funding their country provides to the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Several British MPs (Members of Parliament) used documentation provided by Palestinian Media Watch to point to examples of Palestinian hate incitement during the debate.

Conservative MP Gordon Henderson pointed to several instances where PA television aired broadcasts depicting Israel as an ogre with a Star of David skull cap that impales and eats Palestinian children in Gaza; a video glorifying terrorist Ibrahim Hamid, who planned a series of suicide bombings that killed 46 Israelis; and a video of a mother dressing her son as a suicide bomber.

“It is clear that a culture of hate has wormed its way into the very fiber of Palestinian society…Incitement takes many forms. It ranges from the denial of Israel’s right to exist to the abhorrent glorification of violence and infamous Palestinian terrorists,” MP Henderson said, according to PMW.

Additional concern was raised by the MPs over funding of the PA. They cited British Prime Minister David Cameron’s position of denying funds to support hate incitement.

PMW, however, claims that funding provided by Britain to the PA’s general budget has supported PA-sponsored events glorifying terrorists.

“Contrary to PM Cameron’s assertion that ‘Britain will never support’ anyone who glorifies terror, it is supporting the PA, which glorifies terror almost daily,” PMW wrote.

Responding to the debate, Alistair Burt, Britain’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, took a different tone, acknowledging the problem but arguing that hate incitement is a symptom, not a problem, according to PMW.

“Some material was shocking and offensive,” Burt said. “It has no place in any political or historical discourse in which any credible democratic authority has a part. But my deep and genuine worry is that this incitement is not simply a cause of separation between peoples and hatred; I am afraid that it is a symptom of it.”

The issues of Palestinian hate incitement and funding of the PA have also been debated in Norway recently following a Norwegian television news report highlighting PMW’s findings there.
