Read Adam Levick’s article at The Jewish Chronicle on UK media’s anti-Israel bias

Here are the lead paragraphs of Adam Levick’s recent column at The JC:

The first port of call for an examination of bias in media coverage of the teens’ murders is naturally the Guardian, one of the largest purveyors of the anti-Israel narrative. But it would be a mistake to focus there exclusively, as such coverage is, sadly, ubiquitous.

News stories during the weeks before the discovery of the bodies included a predictable emphasis on the settlements, a pictorial focus on Palestinian suffering and a failure to report the context of incitement.

  1. I wonder what Adam is trying to say here when he says

“Most photos focused on the Israeli military response, rather than the boys or their families. A Daily Mail article stood out as the worst example: 16 photos depicting Israeli military operations near Hebron.” Is he saying that the photos were engineered and do not reflect the truth. Or is he saying so what? When you compare the response to the three Jewish children kidnapped and the response by the same military when Palestinian children were killed on the Nakba Day, I say the picture represents the extent of the racist nature of the Israeli state and its military. The killings of the Palestinian children was recorded by the CNN and the local CCTV. Yet none of the soldiers carrying guns in the vicinity were arrested.

As for Adam’s complaint that they were wrongly called settlers. The issue is they were in the West Bank and not in Israel. Were they not visiting the settlements and returning from them? Of course, even if they were settlers or just returning from settlements they did not deserve to be kidnapped. Whoever kidnapped them needs to brought to justice but not the whole of Palestinians in Hebron or the Hundreds of Palestinians that have been arrested. The IDF response is obviously been racist. Nobody has yet been arrested for any of the Palestinian children killed this month or last.

    • Tehran Jane reading your gibberish is becoming increasingly boring.
But worse than boring it is also full of lies and distortion. Even when you are not lying you cannot stop yourself making a puerile attempt to gloss over the truth.

For example “..even if they were settlers or just returning from settlements they did not deserve to be kidnapped.”
Tehran Jane they were kidnapped, then MURDERED. By the same Fascist scum that you support.

  2. A pretty calm and carefully written article. The difficulty is that, as the article mentions, it is not just the Guardian and it seems the battle for a sympathetic ear in the UK for Israel is being lost.

The under emphasising of the peace rally and the steps that Israelis are taking for peace is shocking and dangerous. However the last thing we need is some Israeli push into crowded areas where civilians will suffer. Given the Brit coverage this will translate into Stalingrad style coverage.

    • The Guardian, with its umbilical cord connected to the BBC, is the main purveyor of the anti Israel, pro Palestinian/Arab narrative in the UK. It sees ‘informing the public’ as ‘informing the public of the Palestinian/Arab narrative’.

    • “However the last thing we need is some Israeli push into crowded areas where civilians will suffer. Given the Brit coverage this will translate into Stalingrad style coverage.”

You possess a shtetl mentality. The notion that Jews should not defend themselves for fear of what “the goyim” might say is a way of thinking that really should have gone out with Holocaust.

  3. Popeye how do you under emphasis something that had no effect. As a result of the peace rally none of the Palestinian children arrested over the last two weeks were released or the those suspected of murdering the Palestinian children over the last two months were arrested. As for those calling death to the Arabs resulted in at least one Palestinian child kidnapped and murdered. I would not call this under emphasis. let facts determine emphasis and not our particular racist perceptions.

    • “how do you under emphasis something that had no effect.”

Im sorry I was just so intrigued at the thought of the editor at a peace rally that it threw my judgement briefly. This was the guy who noted that the Vietnam atrocities were “alleged” . I thought his stand should be encouraged. The journey begins with small steps etc etc

    • Jane you shouldn’t worry about Popeye, he’s your best friend called berchmans , has the same habit as you changing his moniker every other day and he’s a well known vicious antisemite who is obsessed with Cifwatch, Israel and the Jews even has a special relationship with the memory of murdered Jewish children. He’s your brother in trolling so please go easy on him, he has impeccable credentials in the Jew-hating camp, don’t ruin the buds of a beautiful friendship.

    • Palestinian children? YOu mean like these children?
Ismail Tsabaj, 12, Azi Mostafa, 13, and Yousuf Basam, 14, were sent by Hamas on a mission chillingly similar to the one involving the Fogels, aiming to penetrate a Jewish home at night and slaughter a family in their beds

  4. “.. let facts determine emphasis and not our particular racist perceptions.”
Tehran Jane you need to look in a mirror and repeat that advice to yourself.

  5. So, let us look at the facts – Three Palestinian Children were killed in May. CNN video and the CCTV recorded these deaths and the shots fired. There were several IDF soldiers present in the area of the shooting yet none were arrested. Three Jewish children were kidnapped and subsequently murdered as a result Palestinian towns were put under siege and several hundred Palestinians, including children were arrested by the Israeli military. Several houses were demolished without any evidence of wrong doing. Now has the mirror cracked for you Gerald? I can see the despair in your abuse.

    • “So, let us look at the facts..”

Tehran Jane the problem is that you LOOK at the facts, on the rare occasion when you realise what a fact is, then discard them as they are inconvenient to the garbage you wish to post.

Your incoherent ‘posts’ and your inability to answer questions are proof of the facts that you are a liar, a hypocrite and a coward.
Your only action is to run into this site like an incontinent chimp flinging shit around then run away screeching.

  6. Gerald you so admirably prove the case for me with your the use of of the abusive words like coward, incontinent, chimp shit hypocrite only reflect on you inability to have a decent conversation. Just like the IDF arresting anyone without reason or cause. The world is seeing through this – complaints on this site by the likes of you or Adam is ineffective.

    • Tehran Jane you can try and divert attention as much as you like but the glaringly obvious truth is that you are a proven liar. Your use on a few occasions of words such as ‘fact’ and racist’ shows you to be a hypocrite. And your constant attempts to avoid answering questions clearly demonstrates that you are a coward.

You, obviously, regard the truth as abusive, but that says a lot about you and your failure to behave as a person with any credibility.

    • Anyone without a reason?
      like these
Ismail Tsabaj, 12, Azi Mostafa, 13, and Yousuf Basam, 14, were sent by Hamas on a mission chillingly similar to the one involving the Fogels, aiming to penetrate a Jewish home at night and slaughter a family in their beds In this case, the IDF fortunately stopped them in time.
Hakim Awad, 17, is a minor. Last March he and his 18-year-old cousin, Amjad, brutally murdered the Fogel family while they slept

  7. What popeye are you suggesting the Palestinians allow their children to be killed with impunity while they wait for the Zionists to realize the evil of their ways.
    Are you real?
Would humanity despite your reservations allow this to happen? If it does the consequences for humanity would be worse than disastrous.
