Indy buries story of murdered Jewish baby; focuses instead on briefly detained Palestinian boy

On Oct. 19th, per a video released by B’tselem, a Palestinian boy was arrested in Hebron for throwing stones at soldiers.  Fifteen minutes later, the soldiers released the boy after his father arrived and explained that he was mentally disabled.

On Oct. 22nd, a Palestinian Hamas supporter (Abdelrahman al-Shaludi, from the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem) with a history of antisemitic violence, rammed his car into pedestrians standing a light rail platform in Jerusalem on Wednesday, killing a 3 month old baby (Chaya Zissel Braun) and injuring others.

If you were the editor of a major British daily, which story would you be more likely to highlight?

Well, evidently editors at the Independent decided that the story of a briefly detained Palestinian stone thrower was of greater importance than the terrorist murder of a Jewish infant.

Here’s a snapshot of the headline and photo of an Oct. 23rd article, written by James Rush.

indy

After eight paragraphs of text on the briefly detained Palestinian, which included a video of the incident, the Indy got around to mentioning the terror attack in Jerusalem.

Here are the final four paragraphs of their story:

In a separate incident on Wednesday in Jerusalem, a Palestinian with a history of anti-Israel violence slammed his car into a crowded railway station, killing a three-month-old baby girl and wounding eight people in what police called a terror attack.

Jeruslam mayor Nik Barkat said the girl and her parents, injured in the incident, were US citizens.

The violence came after months of tensions between Jews and Palestinians in east Jerusalem. Palestinians have demanded the section of the city to be their future capital.

The area has experienced unrest and near-daily attacks on the city’s light rail by Palestinian youths since a wave of violence over the summer, capped by the 50-day war between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza.

The Palestinian child arrested by Israeli soldiers for throwing rocks is safe, and home with his family.

The Jewish baby was buried today in Jerusalem.

Since Indy editors chose not to humanize the Jewish newborn, we’ll leave you with these photos of Chaya, in life and, tragically, in death.

  1. Dead Jews are the goal of the British – they have backed Islamofascists for over 100 years, in spite of Chruchill’s comments about them

    • The British goal is to self preserve their ways and to keep their wealth by exploiting the rest of the cultures around them.
Their other goal is to look after pets.
If dead Jews fall under either of these so be it but it is not a priority.
They’ll come running back to ask for the Jews’ opinion in fighting Ebola and finding intel about the Islamofascists in the ME.

      • “They’ll come running back to ask for the Jews’ opinion in fighting Ebola and finding intel about the Islamofascists in the ME.” ..and for effective military methods used to decrease risk of civilian casualties. But only gov’t. to gov’t., military to military. Wouldn’t want that sort of thing getting in the papers.

  2. “50-day war between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza.”

Just some Hamas militants in Gaza? I heard a rumor that Hamas was the government in charge in Gaza, in control of things like street sweeping, “education,” rocket imports, rocket launchings, terror tunnel digging and of course, propaganda. Can anyone at the Indy confirm this for me?

    • The independent will go into “Three Monkeys mode hear/see/say no evil” on this as it seems to be following Al-Guardian into the journalistic sewer. I used to read the independent but stopped buying it about four years ago when it was becoming clear that the independent was on its way down to the same levels as al-guardian and al-BBCeera

      • The Independent was a full-blown Nazi paper when the Guardian was only moderately antisemitic (this would have been ca. 20 years ago).

  3. Never mind that the current molotov cocktail throwing and rock throwing at busses, trams, kinder gardens and all sort of civilian and police targets has been going on for a month on a daily basis.
Never mind that Ismail Hanya’s daughter was treated in Israeli Hospital during that period only for him to chear on the murderer Palestinian for butchering the 3 months old baby yesterday.
Never mind that Fatah are silent and in fact pin the blame at Israel for this “Natural response” coming from Jerusalem Arabs.
Never mind that the Israeli Arab MK’s do the same thing and continue to incite rather than to try and calm the atmosphere.
And never mind that on the ceremony where officially the Aramaic national has been acknowledged in the Israeli parliament to describe the Christians of the ME as per their wish and after long investigation in to this, Hanin Zoabi disrespect them yet again by calling them Arabs against their own wishes.

These are not news for the Guardian and the Indi.
Oh no, these are bubbe meises…
But behold, the one underaged rioter that was arrested and released to his father (only to return the very next day) is the plan de jour….

  4. Shouldn’t Indy tell its viewers that Fatah and Hamas glorified the massacre of this 3 month old Jewish baby.
Once again Proof that Fatah and Hamas are no different then ISIS
