UK Media Watch prompts Times of London correction to Muhammed Abu Khdeir story

Less than an hour ago, we published a post urging Times of London (The Times) to correct an article by Abeer Ayyoub (Name of Arab boy taken off Israeli shrine, April 23) which falsely claimed that murdered teen Muhammed Abu Khdeir was the first Palestinian killed by Jewish Israelis included on the terror victims’ memorial on Mt. Herzl in Jerusalem.
We noted that Times of Israel, AFP and The Guardian all corrected similar claims regarding Abu Khdeir after communication with UK Media Watch and colleagues at CAMERA’s Israel office in which we provided other examples of Palestinians killed by Jews who were bestowed this honor.
A few minutes ago, we learned that – following a complaint to editors and a Facebook message directly to Ms. Ayyoub – Times of London just issued a correction. Here’s the addendum.

We commend Times of London editors on the correction.
