Independent suggests Israel is still building settlements…in Gaza (UPDATE)

An article by John Hall in The Independent (Israel to resume building controversial settlements in the West Bank after 18-month moratorium, Jan. 25th) includes the following passage, meant to provide context to recently ‘resumed’ Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria:

Of course, Israel left Gaza (and evacuated all settlers) in 2005.

We’ve contacted Indy editors seeking a correction to this false claim.

UPDATE: Shortly after tweeting the journalist, and alerting him to the error, the passage was revised and the false claim removed.
