On Friday, we spotted the following error in an Independent article written by Matt Broomfield titled “Israel: Prayer protesters in violent Western Wall clash with ultra-conservative Orthodox Jews”.
False claim @Independent. No, the Western Wall is NOT the holiest site in Judaism. Temple Mount is the holiest site. https://t.co/gfNqmLGk79 pic.twitter.com/9At95GuBkQ

Of course, the Temple Mount is Judaism’s holiest site, not the Western Wall.
Following our tweet, we emailed Indy editors to point out the error and noted that, in 2014, they corrected the same error after communication with our office.
They promptly responded and agreed to correct this latest error.
The sentence now reads:
Hundreds of Reform Jewish activists marched on Jerusalem’s Western Wall yesterday, demanding equal access to one of the most holy sites in Judaism and scuffling with their ultra-conservative Orthodox brethren.
