It’s difficult to know which is worse about this Daily Mirror photo essay: the fact that they completely obfuscated the terror dimension of Gaza’s tunnels, glorified Hamas’s abuse of children or unethically used four-year old photos while presenting them as current.
Whilst nobody familiar with Banksy would be surprised by his use of imagery associated with classic antisemitism, it’s troubling that journalists who pride themselves on critically scrutinising every Israeli claim didn’t challenge the pro-Palestinian artist when he floated the risible claim that his latest project was benignly designed to promote dialogue.

ISIS’s attacks are fueled by a radical, violent and intolerant religious ideology which is impervious to reason, persuasion or self-interest. They certainly don’t desire “peace” and justice in the Middle East. Their goal is quite clear: re-establishing an Islamic Caliphate in the Middle East ruled by Sharia and, ultimately, conquest of the entire world.
